Privilege,Paris,Starbucks and lots more stores: Parque Arauco Mall

by VeronicaG

Parque Arauco Mall is the location for shops such as Nine West, BB2, Hush Puppies, Mingo, MNG, Stefan Joyeros, Laura Ashley, Swatch, Via Augusta Express, Foster, Ellus Limited, Ripley, Tommy Hilfeger, Falabella and many, many others. There is also a place to exchange your money and bank machines.I discovered Privilege on last year's trip to Santiago. This year, I stopped by to check the merchandise once again. This shop always seems to have something I like! When I visit in February, most clothing is on sale. It's a great time to shop. The sales staff is prompt to help and will direct you to the cashier to purchase your choice. Once paid for, you are then directed to a counter to have your purchase wrapped. Such service!!I visited Parque Arauco mall many times this visit and highly recommend it. It is my favorite mall in which to shop! All types of women's, men's and children's clothing;...

Los Dominicos: Santiago's artisan area

by VeronicaG

Los Dominicos is an artisan's area featuring many different crafts. We visit each time we come to Chile and highly recommend it for souvenirs and gifts for family or for yourself. It is located outside Santiago and most people would know how to direct you there!Shops offering handmade jewelry (I love the silver pendants, earrings and rings), ceramics, wood crafts, woven textiles, leather products and silver/pewter items. There are small places to have a quick lunch or snack. Postcards and toys are available, too. We've taken the kids with us and they always find something to hold their attention: ducks, winding pathways, etc. Silver jewelry or leather products. A pastry nicknamed "torn underwear" that was delectable!

Duty Free Shop: Spend some pesos on good wine

by ctorres1979

You can get great wines in places besides the duty free shop but this is where I spent most of mine at the last minutes before I got on the plane. Their prices are decent but I think you can probably get slightly better deals in supermarkets Just a tip about wines, there are so many different labels to choose from but my dad who has been drinking chilean wines almost all his life has a couple of favorites. When we go to chile we pick up bottles made by Santa Rita, Veramonte or Carmen. in USD approx $3-$7

Parque Arauco: Malls in Santiago

by aero198

Parque Arauco is the oldest mall in Santiago, but it's been renewed several times, it has a multiplex cinema with 14 movie theatres, a complete medical centre, food court and many stores (more than 200). And now, Parque Arauco has opened a Starbucks coffe!!From monday to saturday it's open from 10:00 to 21:00sundays it's open from 11:00 to 21:00.Foodcourt is until 22:00.Very close is located another mall, Alto Las Condes, a very good one too. Almost any service is availbale at the mall, it also counts with 3 majors department stores. It's a bit more expensive than shopping at the regular commerce, but a lot more comfortable.

Wool products

by tini58de

When visiting Chiloe, we stopped by a local market and had the most fun looking at and buying woolen socks, hats, and blankets. My socks have kept me warm ever since - I just love them! A perfect souvenir!

COPPER

by swesn

Mining is a significant source of revenue for Chile.Copper is the most important minerals for the Chileans. In fact, Chile is the largest producer of copper in the world. Chuquicamata, near Calama, is the most important copper mine.As such, there are many souvenirs made into copper lamination or copper plates. A suggestion for a meaningful yet very Chilean souvenir would be a copper lamination with, say, Pablo Neruda's poetry.
