LAPISLAZULI JEWELRY :o)

by Aquamantos

There are only 2 LAPISLAZULI's mines in the whole world and one of those is right here in Chile, in the IV Region exactly. This blue semi precious stone is used to create wonderful jewelry pieces, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and different types of ornaments. This is one of my favourite stones, because of the deep blue color. There are many jewelry shops in Chile where you can find it.*Photo: taken from www.yahoo.com* Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Depending on the piece.

In every single book store!.: Pablo Neruda's books

by Aquamantos

Here in Chile, you can find Neruda's books everywhere, it's very easy.*Photo: taken from www.google.com* I recommend:1. Twenty Love Poems And Song Of Despair.2. The Elementary Odes Of Pablo Neruda.3. Selected Poems. Depending on the edition is the price you'll get. Simple ones you can get for US$4.00 and sometimes less. More sophisticated editions can go up to US$100.00

All the little shops there along the entire street: Go to Pomaire, the pottery town!

by Ames24

The whole narrow street is full of shops on both sides all the way down. All kinds of beautiful pottery, and other things too. Lots of nice stuff to choose from. I think the bigger question is how much room do you have to pick up a lot of nice pottery to take home, or money to ship it back!

CHILEAN SOUVENIRS

by Saldi

If you are in Santiago, there's a few places where you can buy some tipical chilean souvenirs, and Handycraft, like:Pueblito de Los Domínicos (an antique monastery, now is full of artisans and Chilean arts and products).Aldea de Vitacura (a place full of rural-wooden cabins where you can find more specials souvenirs). You can't leave Chile if you don't buy a bottle of Chilean wine!!!!!, our proud and our best product for export.Or tipical Chilean folk clothes like the "poncho", Or sweet and dry candy made of fruits like "Papayas Confitadas" that you can pass trough the customs offices without problems.Only in Chile and some places of Afganistán there is a semi- precious blue stone called "Lapislázuli". From rich mineral deposits of lapislazuli found high in the Andes moutains, this beautiful stone is extracted and selected carefully. And it's very unique... (you can find jewerly and...

Cazuela

by hrothgarorange

If you ever get the chance to try this traditional Chilean soup - do! It's a potato, a piece of some species of pumpkin, chicken, and meat in broth. Muy sabroso..

Empanadas

by hrothgarorange

Empanadas are very Chilean and very delicious! They come in a few different varieties, but empanadas de pino (onion, meat, an olive, a hard-boiled egg) are especially good!

PISCO

by mortica

You should taste and buy Pisco, especially Pisco sour (with lemon etc.). Very good, and a real taste of Chile (and some would say Peru).
