La Candelaria - Downtown, Bogotá
There are several public and private universities inside the old town area which gives it a feel of of student area. The picture shows one of them.
At the other end from the Plaza Bolivar within La Candelaria, I saw this colorful church with an interior that matches the color outside. Entrance free for all churches in the old town.
Bogota was established on a plateu, neither on a hill-top nor on a valley. Thats why at some places you get spectacular view of the city giving you an impression of rolling hils that holds the city.
The old town has also its share on narrower stoned streets built on the hill with preserved colonial houses.
Police and security presence is visble in all parts of the old town makng it rather safer walking zone.
With colonial Spanish characteristic you may see quite few houses with extended balconies over the street.
This is the colonial area of Bogota. I just walked around here on the cobblestoned streets and took in all the colorful buildings.
