    Parque de los Periodistas

Parque de los Periodistas is a small park in the corner of Avenida Jiménez and Carrera 3. Standing by the park is a monument known as the Templete de Bolívar with a statue of the liberator. The monument was constructed by the Italian architect Pietro Cantini in 1883.
On Sundays and holidays there is a flee market in the park.

Parque de los Periodistas is a crossroads of sorts, it's where historic Bogota (La Candelaria) meets the new Bogota, full of skyscrapers, wide avenues and huge crowds. It is also around the the corner from the terminus station (Las Aguas) of one of the Transmilenio lines. There are always people walking to and fro in the plaza/park.

There is a paved area with a covered statue of Bolivar in the middle, as well as a grassy area that many people relax on and read a book or have a picnic.

On sundays there is a market held here from the morning until early-mid afternoon. Most of the stuff to be found in the market is junk, but hey...you never know what you'll find!
