Amores Escondidos (Hidden Loves)
by mircaskirca
On the day of my arriving in Triganá I took a walk to San Pacho with a couple I met on the boat. She visited the area before and her fondest memory were amores escondidos (hidden loves). We asked a few people in the village where we could get them and finally found the house where they still used to make them. Actually, we were quite lucky as the plate full of those delicious sweets was just prepared for children to take and sell them in the street. We bought quite a few and we really liked them. Fruit Wine
by mircaskirca
The area is also known for production of wine made from plants and fruits other than grapes. I also saw bottles with locally made spirit and a snake inside. Quite disgusting! Javier and Lilian once brought me to this small distillery. To my surprise the owner was a nice guy that we used to met every day but never talked about it. In San Pacho you can get his fruit wines in El Almendro and in the bar next to the pier. I only tried ginger wine and it was...
