There is only really one road on the island - around the circumferance. There is a scheduled bus service around the island which can be useful for getting around.
Don't pay too much attention to the timetable though and forget about the evenings!

What this is is a blow hole or almost kinda of like a small geyser to give you an idea. It's about twenty metres away from the ocean and it's like a hollow tube that goes under the ground. So when the waves crashes against the shore the air gets forced through really fast and it exits through the blow hole. It can spray a bit of water quite high into the air and it will blow off your hat or your hair straight up into the air

San Andres town is definately the hub of the islands and you will have some interaction somehow with it. Not the greatest city in the world but there is enough souvenir stores and stuff to keep you busy for at least a day.

The ocean surrounding these islands is really beautiful and has so many different colours. To truly appreciate this you will have to get to a higher place. The centre of San Andres island is a good place and so is the window seat on a plane during the day.

On the island of San Andres there is a cave where the famous pirate Captain Morgan is said to buried some of his treasure. Apparantly it is a long cave but it is filled with water so you can only get to the entrance but the legend is enough to make you come to this place. Also there is a little museum nearby to check out.

On San Andres island in the inland town of La Loma is the islands first church. It is a quite large church considering that it is made of wood. The church is at about the highest point of the island so there are good views up here

On Providencia island a worthwhile activity is climbing the islands highest mountain, El Pico. It is quite an easy climb actually it is just hiking. You can climb by yourself but obviously it would be better to have a guide so you don't get lost which you can get at the islands tourist office. I climbed the mountain without any water but if you want some you will have to bring it before you go because there is none on the way. Once you get to the top you will have great views of the island.

Near to Providence you found Cayo Crangrejo, who is a great place with a beautifull view in the top when you can see the amazing blue caribean ocean. And you can have a cocktail with coconut or a delicius ceviche. You can snorkelling too, and you will found a lot of fish and corral with wonderfull colors

Around Providence there is one of the largest and most beautifull corral reefs in the world, and you can go snorkelling near or try scuba diving , because if you do, the experience will be amazing! The beautiful clear blue waters are alive with many types of fish and sealife. Colourful corrals and hidden caves are filled with life. Even one metre from the shore at only a few centimetres tiny fish will swim around your feet. Tiny jellyfish can be seen everywhere, although maybe it would be a good idea to wear a t-shirt, when you snorkle and dive, to keep the sun off your back and prevent the stings from the jellyfish.
