Flying to Providencia

by canuckmike

There is only one carrier that flies to Providencia and that is West Caribbean Airways. The airplane that flies from San Andres to Providencia might rattle the nerves of nervous or inexperienced flyers. It's a twin engine plane that on the inside has Cyrillic writing explaining what stuff does. It is easily pushed around by strong wind and don't be surprised if you here farm animals on the plane. Landing in Providencia is really amazing and you should enjoy the scenery.

The Main Road Around Providencia

by canuckmike

There is one main road that goes around Providencia island so it is fairly hard to get lost when you are on that road. The road is in fairly good condition and as you can kinda see by the picture it does not get too busy.

Camera broken equals bad pictures, sorry

The most common form to travel San Andres is by airplane, them usually fly from the big cities like Bogota, Cali, Medellin and Barranquilla; exist two principal airlines Aerorepublica and Alianza Suma. By plane you waste two hours, the cost is the same for both (about US100 ) trip around.Other Options:From Colombia:There are daily flights from most major cities, the most flights are from Bogota with multiple flights daily. Other cities may have only one flight daily or two or three times a week. If you are planning to connect though a Colombian city your best option would be Bogota. From South America:The best option is to book your flight through Bogotá or check with your Travel Agency for charter flights, sometimes there are charter flights from Argentina. From Central America:There are flights from San Jose (Costa Rica). If you are planning a trip from any other country in Central...

arriving by ship.

you also can travel by ship, rather cargo ships, but that can take you between seventy-two and eighty hours....and to take a ship you have been in Cartagena or in Barranquilla, is cheaper but you waste a lot of time.

golf car

by boasnovas

The best way to know that small island is to rent a golf car and drive the 35 kilometers around the island when you are able to stop, swim, have lunch, and see the touristic places.
