Dance till you drop

by Lodestar

Throughout the country you will see enoumerous different places where you can dance. It can be a liquores on a street corner - an all-night alcohol and snack shop with tables and chairs in front of it and music blasting from 2x2 m speakers, or it can be a nice, trendy, fashionable night-club. no matter which one, the music is amazing and the way the locals dance...... well, makes you speechless. So, better start brushing up on your merengue, vallenato, cumbia, champeta, salsa and so on and so forth. So basically - you cannot go to Colombia (i especially suggest the Caribbean region where people are more relaxed and fun-loving) and not dance the night away!

In Avenida Arsenal in Centro you find most of the disco's located side by side. I prefer the 'Mr. Barbillia'. Its open all week, but in the weekends they the place is really crowded and they tripple the space. The place is 'boiling' with people of all kinds, and like almost everywhere in south america, nobody stands still as long as the salsa is playing. The people, the music, the mood, The Caiperiñas.... Casual. Shorts no problem...

by vela_candela

The night is Bogota, starts early because it ends early... so, try to have a light meal and go clubbing around 9 p.m because at 1a.m. all the places inside the city close then. The spots for clubbing are Zona Rosa and Calle 93, you can just walk around the place and pick up the best choice. Mr. Babilla is a place that keeps the same ambient in Bogota and in Cartagena, so you can compare!

In Cartagena de Indias:Mr.Babilla seem like the only disco worth recommending in Cartagena but it is definitely worthy of your time for the excellent Latin music played, the interesting decoration and the stunning ladies dancing salsa inside. You won't get bored there! Just be advised that there is no restaurant or sandwich joint around so eat before you go.

Antifaz: Antifaz

by Martintin

The antifaz is playing the best music in whole Bogota.Mostly old salsa and seventies music like the doors. The people there are mostly students and youalways meet really interesting people there. There is no dress code. Most people wear just there common clothes.(for example jeans and shirt)

Rum-bus Cartagena: Rum-bus Cartagena

by bean

A nicely colored bus that drives through the city center, while you drink onboard. The old city is not very lively at night, apart from a few small squares in the north. The very touristic 'new center' cramped with big hotel blocks is lively, but not very typical for Colombia

Bogota has one of the best night lifes in the entire world. This is a thing which you would perhaps not expect in a country with a latin heritage. The main night life area in Bogota is the Pink Zone (Zona Rosa). This area is located in the northern part of Bogota. It is packed with discos and night clubs.
