Sea Lion: when the sun goes down
by richiecdisc
With so much to do during the day I must confess to mostly taking it easy in the evenings. A sunset and a couple beers with dinner was generally more than enough to put me in the mood for bed. In Puerto Ayora you could certainly find many pubs for a drink if that was what you wanted or you could have a beer or two at your favorite restaurant on Charles Binford which is what we usually did. On Isabella we met up with a few people from our hostel to discuss getting our trip to Los Tunneles organized. It was pretty atmospheric, down by the dock, with sandy floors which is perfect in Villamil, a town with streets of sand.
Clothes are a good idea.
Limon Y Cafe: Dont go to Limon Y Cafe
by rfrimel
I got my camera stolen at this bar, and I heavily suspected one of the bartenders. So, I started talking to the police, and filled out a report and everything, and got in touch with the owner, Ricardo Fuentes. He told me not to worry, if they didnt find the camera, he was going to reimburse me for it (I think he realized it was probably one of the bartenders also). I have not been able to contact him ever since, and he ignores my phone calls and emails. So it goes...
Salsa lessons in the Galapagos?
by nattybabe
Maybe it was that there were several young people on our boat or perhaps they do this with every cruise they take, but the crew took it upon themselves to teach us the Salsa. They had numerous DVDs on board so the music was covered, but perhaps the skill was lacking from us non South Americans. It was a lot of fun though and took away the feeling of sea sickness for a while. If you have the chance – give it a go!!

Salsa and Vodka
by nattybabe
There are not many places to go on a Saturday night in the Galapagos Islands, but the ones that are there start pumping early. They play a mixture of Latin and western music which you can shake your booty until the early hours. Be warned…. If you order a vodka, watch how much they pour or you may end up on the floor after one drink.
Sleepy nights
by CrazyShoes
Nightlife? What nightlife? Well there are a few cool bars and restaurants on Santa Cruz but it must have been low time (Sept) when we were there. Sooo here's a picture of one of the ways we spent the beginning of the night.
You're on a boat, doncha know...: What nightlife!?!
by catalysta
...and up every day at the crack of dawn, to maximize your land exploration experiences. But onboard the Reina Sylvia, every evening at cocktail hour we held a group discussion of what we'd seen that day. Then after dinner, our guide Richard would give us a fascinating lecture aobut what the next day held in store for us.

Aboard Ship: Daily Recap
by roamer61
Nightlife in the Galapagos is generally aboard your ship. It usually consists of a discussion by a Naturalist on the days activities and focusing on what was seen. Some larger vessels may show a film or slide presentation. The actual nature of this all depends on the ship and its category (luxury, research, etc).

There are a few discotecas on the main island and on San Cristobal. Your guides will know where to go. Our guide brought us to a discoteca and then danced in front of the mirror the whole night (by himself). Very funny! Lights (and electricity) go out at midnight, but some places have backup electricity so they can boom their music late into the night.
