I would insist that anyone who visited Ecuador for the first time take an overall tour of the country. Enjoying the town of Banos in the Andes Mountains. You really should try roasted guinea pig.I miss the friendly Eucadorian Indians who live in the small town in the Andes.
I would suggest to anyone going to Ecuador to go and visit Santo Domingo. Its a nice place but don't just go to see the city. There is one place in Santo Domingo I love to be-It is a little store on the street 'avenida Tsachilas' just about six or seven blocks from the bus station in front of a church(the other small street is 'Pindo')They are friends of mine and they make excellent yogurt. Tell them Hermano Bueler sent you.
The people are the best. I believe they are the friendliest in the world. They have many hardships and trials but they just go on and do what they have to in order to keep living. The people are the national treasure. Take just a little time to get to know them and you will be happy you did. Ecuador offers gorgeous sites and good people. Talk to them a little and you will make friends fast.
Be in Quito for the Fiestas de Quito, in the first week of December, culminating on the 6th of December. I miss the light-heartedness and relaxed atmosphere that the people have there, no matter how bad things get.
In Ecuador, just like everywhere, there are so many sites to spend time for a while.You can stay at the Coast, Highlands, Amazon or the Galapagos Islands.If you need more information, please, ask me about it. Our culture is interesting, one of the things that I never forget is my people, from diferents regios or cities, I'll never forget them, and if you come to Ecuador, you'll see what about I am talking.
You MUST go sight seeing!!! If you go to Quito you will see the beautiful mountains that the city is surrounded with. Pichincha, Chimborazo, Cayambe, to name a few. And all the moutains are surrounded by little two towns that have their onw enchantment!! Hiking. It is an unbelieveable feeling, being up there you feel like you can almost touch the sky with you finger tips. The sun is shinning yet the wind is blowing cold. The whole experience is a must do.
see the aztec village. There is a man made lake there and you walk out into the center at night and look down at the reflection to watch the stars. it is amazing see above
Ecuador is a very cheap place. The crime rate is pretty high in this country
In small cabins, or in bigger "tiendas", every place is made for youuuuu !Dans des petits cabanons ou dans des plus grosses "tiendas", tout est fait pour vous !
