Atacames Things to Do

Atacames is one of this places where you can do a lot or do nothing at all... For starters, there are plenty of official tourist guides with plenty of ideas of what to do... They offer day trips or excursions around the area. We chose to take a two hour cruise in a small boat to explore the coastline. It was informative and gave us ideas of other places we would like to see. The boat ride with the guide for two hours for just my husband and I was $10.00, well worth the price!
Sua, a smaller beach to the south of Atacames is also worth going to visit. It is less crowded, you can actually enjoy a peaceful day at the ocean doing nothing at all.

What do people usually do at the beach, eat drink and sunbathe.
When I came, there wasnt much of a surf but that was ok. We rested on the hammocks and drank quite a bit.
My favorite drink.....caipirina.
We drank all day with my cousins for $16 total. It was great.

On the road out of the city you will see quite a few stands like this selling exotic fruit. Dont be afraid to try some. It's inexpensive and very good.
