San Pablo Lake at 2660 m. (8724 feet) is one of the more prominent tourist attractions in Northern Ecuador. Its size and mild climate allow for sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, canoeing, and waterskiing. The preñadilla, a fish native to the Andes, lives among the totora reed, from which natives make all kinds of local crafts.
