    Tuna fishing is not just a big business in Manta, it is also an ostentatious activity. If the proof is in the pudding then the pudding is at Manta harbour where some of the fanciest fishing boats are seen. Besides the latest electronic equipments, these boats all have a helicopter landing pad (and of course, a helicopter to land on the pad), plus four or five beautifully hand painted crafts when one wants to leave the boat to explore the ocean at up close.

    "Gone fishing" is not the same when one is aboard these gleaming and luxurious vessels.

    This is a beautifil beach about 30 minutes South of Manta on the Via a la Costa. It is next to a tiny village, but there is never anyone on the beach. You can just drive your car right up to where you will be sunbathing!

    Beware of the strong undercurrent and strong waves - this is no joke!!!
