    As I noticed in different South American countries, calory forms the large part of the meal. Rice and potato together? yeps, like my home-country. Beef stew with different leaves and mild spices and capsicum-cream sauce.

    Very nice, clean, romantic setting with both indoor and outdoor seating and descent wine selection. In Feb. 2005, the pizza ran btw $3.70-$7.20. However, the atmosphere is better than the food and the service.

    Middle Eastern joint which serves up super meaty shawarmas for descent prices (about $2). The food is pretty good and fast, and it does the trick if your hungry. The food is a little more than a snack, but less than a big meal. Indoor and outdoor seating (outdoors you'll see plenty of gringos trying out the hookas).

    On the outskirts of town, heading north towards Otavalo, you will see many vendors that roast pigs.

    I haven't had the guts to stop at one of these yet, but they do make for great pictures!

    Haven't eaten there - but I imagine you can't get much more than pork.

    A good spot for breakfast, cheap and quite nice, in a friendly neighbourhood.

    One thing so special about Quito is the fas food meal with a local touch. Obviously addition of rice and bean/lentil sauce makes the meal yummy. Miss those meals just for a dollar and half!

    Reading from the guidebook I came to know about this place. Was really interested to try some local dish. And chose one! The restaurant has different special dishes on different days of the week. In comparison with the location and arrangement price is really cheap. I regret for not staying in Quito few more days, perhaps I could try other dishes on different days!

    Its on the terrace restaurant of Secret Garden hostel. One day I just wanted to try their dinner. Nothing special and perhaps its just better to eat outside since the price is higher than eating in a restaurant. After the dinner we were asked if we wanna try the Secret-Garden special. And here you see. I loved it!

    This beer was good. So you remember to try, notice the label! The restaurant was not that crowded, perhaps many just like to try fast-food instead which comes at even cheaper price!
