Colonial Quito, Quito

The Virgen is one of the most fascinating monuments in the city of Quito. It is located on a small hill in the center of the city and you can see from a long distance.

One of the most beautiful spots in colonial Quito. Vey nice to stop in this plaza to have some rest.

The San Francisco church and convent, is the oldest church in Quito. It dates from XVI century. The interior of the church is magnificent baroque architecture, with carved statues and gilded chapels.

Also in the Sala Capitular of San Agustin church, you will find this beautiful altar of the Escuela Quiteña.

When in Quito visit the beautiful Cotopaxi National Park, it´s very close and its an amazing trip.

Quito by night is very nice and specially the colonial part because it has lights all over.
The chuches are beautiful and with the lights they seem like in a movie.

Quito old city is full of churches and interesting buildings. The La Compania Church in restauration is really beautiful. The San Francisco chuch and convent is also a must.

The downtown area has nice plazas and buildings, especially around Plaza Grade (plaza de la independencia) where one can see the cathedral, the Governmental palace, and the municipal palace.
