Excellent service, a wine bottle, crisp white tablecloths and comfortable wooden chairs, El Jordán is the perfect place to enjoy Arabian dishes, International and Ecuadorian Gourmet Typical Food.
The best wonderful restaurant in Cuenca (the hidden treasure of Ecuador) is localized between the City’s Historic Center and Tomebamba River. El Jordán restaurant is a restored old house with three different ambient (all walls are painted by hand with big pictures liking a museum): The first and second have a French Style and it likes an European Palace, but the three is next near to river, has a beautiful view of all modern city and it was restored with a Arabian style next to the river-side.
Favorite Dish: Don't waste time
Located 20 minutes from Cuenca, the small village of Sayausi holds a place to go, relax and have a good try of local food. They have bungalows and also tables where you can eat in the open air. Nice green surroundings, with a quiet stream near and 2 llamas peacefully hanging around, kids just love them!
Favorite Dish: I tried 3 dishes, all of them very good. First was "Locro de papas con cuero" which is a soup made of potatoes and pork baked skin. Next I'd suggest a Fried Trout, coming right from El Cajas natinal park lakes, accompanied by salad and french fries. Another option is grilled meat. Decent portions and better taste.
