The Central Bank of Ecuador established this part in order to preserve the old customs and culture of Ecuador. The Area Traditions area tries to establish a close relationship between the lifestyles, habits and production of the coastal area of the nineteenth and twentieth century, including displays of of medicinal plants and methods of horticulture. This included such things as a dugout canoe and goats in pens (see photos 4 and 5)
The Wildlife Area is to preserve the vegetation, flora and fauna of the original ecosystem most representative of this area, such as mangrove swamps and tropical dry forest, which in the past were abundant in the province of Guayas. They used mangrove roots and woods to weave the barriers for the animals. The animals there include the “Papagayo de Guayaquil” (parrot of Guayaquil) an endemic colorful specie of bird who lives only in the city zone and is on the way to extinction. Leave a Comment

I did not get out to take pictures of this park, but it looked like an interesting place for children to run around and harass the iguanas. There is also a small pond of multicolored Tilapias, statues (photo 3) and greenery. by dreamkapture Malecón 2000 is the reconstruction project of the pier, one of the most representative sites of Guayaquil city in Ecuador, and a traditional tourist center. The new Pier, which construction has already finish, is one of the most important civic-tourist-commercial sites from South America. The 2 and half kilometers of the Pier as been transformed in the prettiest and most visited area of Guayaquil, rescuing the traditional values and returning the eyes of the city to the river.
I miss the people, the culture, and the ceviche Leave a Comment

Take care at nights because it's still dangerous to be alone, even if you are foreigner. Request a friend or your travel agency to advise you at any time. But things are changing because our new mayor is fighting so hard to toast the tourist bigger comfort. In a few years, we'll have a new city where you can be safe at any time visiting different tourist attractiveness. Come to Guayaquil, the commercial capital of the Ecuador.
Here you're going to find differents places to feel comfort and sure. Malls, cinemas, restaurants, ecological reserves and parks, monuments, museums, churches, bars, discos and night clubs are ready to offer you the heat of Guayaquil. Even the beaches are close, so, if you want to tan , ask for our beaches that are the best and for different likes. Salinas, Montañita, Olón, Punta Blanca are some of them. My preference is Montañita for the rustic atmosphere and bohemian that it exists in this place. Guayaquil is big and of different atmospheres, you just have to come, here, you're our special guest. I recommend to visit in Guayaquil: Malecon 2000, Barrio Las Peñas, Parque Centenario, Parque Seminario, parque Ecologico Cerro Blanco, Reserva ecologica Churute and more. Ask me about if you need additional information.
