Bahia is a huge indoor and outdoor market located across the street on the south end of Malecon. You can find everything there from jewellery to local cuisine, pirated movies to stilettos. This is not the safest place in Guayaquil but it is an interesting venture and you will find friendly merchants and pickpockets alike. This is not the place to find Ecuadorian artisan creations but you can find almost anything else your heart desires within the maze of stands and shops. Don’t bring anything of value into the market, cameras or large sums of money, keep your eyes open and enjoy.
What to pay: Pay in Cash and don't be afraid to barter politely.
