    A beer or a cocktail?

Montanita can be a nightlife spot too, with quite different people melted on the same place. The place is rather calm during the week: some group of surfers (right or fake...) have fun, travelers meet eachothers for a drink or two... But on week ends, the place is full of people from Guayaquil and it becomes very lively and full of music in the bars and in the streets.

Dress Code: Cool, wear what you want to wear. You can go with your guitar and dreadlogs, nobody will complain.

Delfin: My Favorite Hangout in Montanita

Out of all the places in Montanita to sit and have a drink, this place kept me coming back. There is a sort of family feel here. The couple who owns it always have family members around, whether it's Grandma or their baby. I also dig the 80's music that is played here. With a nightly 2 drinks for $3 special, you can't go wrong. Sit back and nurse a Mojito or Cuba Libre.

Chief Bar: Nice relaxing place to have a drink

Chief Bar is an open air place, just beyond most of the commotion on the main drag. If you want to have a conversation without 200 decibles of Bob Marley in your face..this is a good spot to settle in.

    Dress Code: Very casual

Kahuna's: Laid back bar on the beach

Kahuna's is a place to relax, sit back and listen to the waves. The screaming, dancing on tables crowd does their thing down at the other end of the beach. Here, you can talk and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

The night time shows in the streets: The night time shows in the streets

There is alot of night life on the streets of Montanita. There are street entertainers like dancers, fire dancers and stuff like that. Also at night is really when everyone comes out. The bars open with music blarring loud. People spill out into the street and start dancing to reggaeton, salsa and hiphop.
If you go out to the beach its common to see bonfires that you can easily mingle into. The people everywhere are very inviting.
You can even just sit somewhere and people watch.
Its also common to be walking down the street and have someone come up to you and just start talking to you and tell you "where the party is going to be at."

Dress Code: Everything here is casual, no need to dress up for anything.
