From Plaza de Santo Domingo, walk along Rocafuerte in the north-westernly direction for about 3 or 4 blocks and turn left. Here is the indigenous market area where all sort of exotic herbs, barks, leaves, seeds… are sold to be used as whatever form of medication used by the indigenous people. We even passed a shop where shamans dispense treatments for Mal Aire (Bad Air), Ojeada (the Evil Eye), or Baño para la Suerte (Lucky Bath), etc… Try these local treatments, if you are game for it. *gulp* Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Around junction where Calle Rocafuerte meets Calle Cuenca

The shop is also the "factory" of Alberto. A small factory, but great products, mainly in Tagua (this white vegetal ivory), or also in colourful grains... You may ask him whatever you want to be built in Tagua, he will do it for you !
Tagua products ! Des trucs en tagua !!

Alonzo cooks, Maria sells. They are both crazy, Alonzo always kidding you, with his tiny voice, and Maria always smiling and asking you "Que mas ?" (what more ?) each time you pick up something to buy... The store is a mess, the restaurant is a mess also, but they have all you may want to eat quickly (or to prepare the best typical meal in your own kitchen)... And they're so kind !! Alonzo cuisine, Maria vend.
Chicken on the barbecue (a fan evacuates the smoke), vegetables, yoghurts, bread (so gooood !), french fries, rice, drinks... Whatever you want !! Poulet au barbecue (un ventilo se charge d'evacuer la fumee), legumes, yaourts, pain (il est troooop bon !), frites, riz, boissons... Ce que vous voulez !
It's cheap !! C'est pas cher !! Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Avenida Colombia 12-16, Barrio El DoradoDirections: Close to the Auberge Inn. They even can take the motorcycle and bring you whatever you ask ! Pres de l'Auberge Inn. Ils peuvent meme livrer a domicile !

Sleeping Galapagos Sea Lion by maryellen50 Crafts on Santa Cruz Island are double/triple what you would pay on the mainland. I found every item I wanted on the mainland at a fraction of the Santa Cruz shops. I bought many balsa wood animal statues and the best prices for these were at the Baltra Airport.
Local crafts, animal statues, T-shirts, etc.
Better prices on the mainland and Baltra Airport Leave a Comment Theme: Local Craft

This is a less touristy market compered to Otavalo. It's more of a food and merchandise market for the local people but it still has a "tourist corner". Most fun is "people watching".
Local craft, fruits.
Bargain on everything. Leave a Comment Theme: Local Craft
