Bus stations (especially in the big cities) are not very safe.Look after your belongings!

We took taxis tiwce in Quito and both times they attempted to up the price after we had previously agreed on a set fare.

If you travel in the beginning of March you might get very wet. People especialy in the mountain areas celebrate their carnival.

Fever comes in different colours. I prefer the yellow one!

Please be sure to use sunscreen! I forgot to pack some when I climbed my first mountain - and my skin was still peeling away 6 days later.
It was recommended to not walk up the steps on the hill to the Panecilla (pictured) because of a risk to foreigners (robbery, etc.).

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT eat anything served in a cart off the street, I got very sick and almost died.
