The Falkland Pound
Favorite thing: Only just over 2500 inhabitants life on the island - and they have their own currency - The Falkland Pound- notes and coins are issued for the islands. Though the normal Pound Sterling is accepted everywhere. Be aware if you take the Falkland Pound out of the country, since you may not be able to exchange it back, even in England!

Fondest memory: Anyone know what are these?
I love flowers, esp. photographing them.
They are colorful & uniquely shaped & full of life. & I like them only in gardens or in the wild, not on my table or inside the homes.
But in terms of naming them, I'm hopeless!
There are hardly any trees in the Falklands.
I found these only around the homes of the locals.
Summer in Falkland
Fondest memory: I was here in the midst of summer (Jan!) & yet it doesn't feel like most people's definition of summer. It's also very windy in the Falklands. Generally, it's warm with the sun but cold in the shade.
The climate here is temperate & since Falklands are close to the South Pole as UK is close to the North Pole, it's cooler in the summer but warmer in the winter than London.
Does this make sense to you? ;-)
