I dont really remember the name of this place, but in 1985 and certainly still today the island is used as a recreation center for the international staff of the nearby European space station in Kourou and they also have one of their large antennas on the island and so they had a great shady restaurant garden, where you almost had the feeling to be in paradise.

Favorite Dish: I had a great fruit-cocktail, that is what I remember

Surely you must know this famous fellow, a most heinous lifer who, upon escaping from Devil's Island established this unit in Cayenne, French Guiana to forever punish his captors and thenceforth proceeded to punish the World.

This is the one and only true Evil Empire, but when all else fails, you cannot pass this place up, can you?

Actually, all kidding aside, though this little unit does a good deal of business, it is no comparison to small but excellent creole restaurants in both of the major towns in Guyane.

Not realizing that it would become important to remember names and addresses of restaurants and hotels, I sit in amazement at the way many of you have committed to memory such detailed information, even telephone numbers, zip and postal codes, you are truly mental giants.

Favorite Dish:
Shrimp, prawns, langostina, by any name, these are among the best and largest you will ever see. When done up 'creole' style, it reminds one of New Orleans. I mean that in the most complimentary way.
