Every Easter, the SGP (Paraguayan Geography society) organise a Race through different areas of the country. The race consists of teams (4 members) covering around 200km in various modalities such as: trekking, cycling, rapel, kayakying.
For 2007, the race is going to be on the 7th and 8th of April. Teams are expected to be mixed with obligatory woman participation. There is a 120USD inscription fee per team, and you are expected to provide your own equipment.
You will need special equipment such as bike, kayak, adequate clothing, etc.

The Yvytu (winds in Guarani) airfield is located near San Bernardino on the Ypakarai Lake shore. It has been opened for around 30 years, and it is the only place in Paraguay where you would find, in flighying condition biplanes built in the first half of the 20th century.
They have got a great website for you to explore. They organise pilot training at very convienient prices 1,200 USD for non members for 30 flights and teoric training on law, meteorology, equipment control, etc.
There are several activities too such as flights over the Ypakarai Lake, and more.
They provide equipment. Theme: Extreme SportsAddress: Near San Bernardino.Directions: From the Asuncion-Ciudad del Este road (Ruta II) turn left on the "Desvio a San Bernardino", from there go 2.6km (1.5 miles), and you will find signposting to the airfield on your right. In Paraguay, there are several biking circuits every year. The most famous ones are Vuelta al Paraguay (Paraguay Tour) and Lago Azul (Ypakarai Lake circuit).
Check the website for calendars.
There are nice circuits in the Guaira Region too with low range hills and several streams and waterfalls, scenic!
You will need a bike and profesional clothing.
