Fronteira ..Border

by pepples46

Ciudade del Este` Fronteira ..Border Brazil and Paraguay, get you're entry Visa in Brazil..cost a lot in Paraguay getting it.many have asked me, what has changed since the time you traveled Paraguay?and while I have always stayed close to South America, have still Friends there and from other Travellers..great pages here on VT,some has changed for the good, but some, like the Drug trafficing has become a real bad hassle, as well as the crime that goes with itfor the Guaranie's..they still struggle to make ends meat, and this is realy sad and devastating. when you see trouble stay out of it, we are Traveler's, we can't change the world...but by not visiting, we will never know, what's Life in other countries all about stay positiv and happy travelling

expectations

don't expect too much from a small Country..it will be sensible to adept and be happy with what you find.and although I speak from long ago..and much has changed since then, but they're will always be a gap between the have and have not.MainRd. leading into Ascuncion, the Capital of Paraguay there is no big Tourist Trap, just a bit common sense does the trick and as far I can say, people in Paraguay are very friendly and helpful, and if you can muster some spanish, it would make your stay very enjoyable

In Ciudade del Est you will find as I said before all sort of things! Be carefull when buying electroonics, cause in some stores they are not original. Dont buy anything in the first store, walk a lot to find the best offer and the stores you can trust. Try to bargain always!

people over there are very poor. They'll do anything to sell you something. Or children will try to polish your shoes when ever they can. We sat somewhere for a drink when all of a sudden I noticed someone was under the table. It was a little boy, pollishing my tennis shoes! I moved my legs to the other side. But he just followed them and tried to complete his job. He didn't ask me anything. I didn't even see him. Fortunately our friend from Paraguay could get rid of him without paying.
