Paron Lake, near Caraz

The largest lake on the National Park Huascaran. Visit the rain forest, the 1000mt high granite cliffs and the lake surrounded by more than 12 snow peaks, some of them rising up to 6400mts. Then, a wild down hill through the canyon from 4200mt to Caraz at 2300mts.

the rugged Quebrada Santa Cruz

You might expect the alpine splendor but the first day of walking will bring you through rugged, dry scenery right out of the wild, wild west.

an oais, laguna grande

Laguna Grande is a highlight of the second day of trekking. It's torquoise waters are a welcomed relief from some near desert like conditions before and after you pass it.
