Called the 2nd deepest canyon in the world, the Colca Canyon, a trip from Arequipa to this 'valley of Wonders' is not to be missed if you have time whilst in Peru. The valley is located about 160 km from Arequipa, on generally good sealed roads (at least as far as Chivay and Yanque), with dusty unsealed roads of a fair standard connecting these...more

Departure from Arequipa's Rodríguez Ballón International airport brings with it a few thrills. It stands at 2562m above sea level, underneath the twin volcanic cones of Misti and Chachani. The city’s main square is surrounded by ancient Inca walls, and an old...more
Do not be fooled into thinking you need a guide to do the colca canyon. Its that easy even a 5 year old could navigate there way thru the canyon.
Unique Suggestions: Smoke weed or do San Pedro. Then you will feel like your being guided by Frodo Baggins.
Fun Alternatives: Smoke weed or do San Pedro and dont take a guide. Ultimate lord of the rings adventure.
