It's just the beginning for the Choquequirao site : it will probably become, in the next future, a place as much visited as the Machu Picchu. But, for the time being, only a fourth of the site has been rebuilt. For us, it meant a lot... The mule and Armando - La mule et Armando

by Maillekeul Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Armando is what they call here an "arriero" : he's supposed and he does care about your food, your backpacks (on a horse or on a donkey), and will guide you if necessary. Armando is walking on a leg and a half, but sometimes, he will be faster than you ! A cheap and good alternative to the Cusco agencies !

The camp in Chiquisque is small and is an unavoidable step in your trek to Choque.

What to buy: After the 3rd (or 4th) day of trek, you are about to finish : so, enjoy a beer here !!

What to pay: (3.5 soles : about 1 USD).
