In Cusco several big celebrations take place, as well christian festivities as also festivities based on Inca traditions. One important christian celebration is the christ holiday "Feast of Corpus Christi" The most important Inca tradition is the "Fiesta del Sol (IntiRaymi), a celebration that has not been celebrated for 500 years until the year 1941 when the celebrations started again. Sometimes the feasts take place on the same day, so the same people celebrate e.g. in the morning the christian tradtion and leave in the afternoon the city up to Sacsayhuayman to celebrate Inti Raymi.

On this celebration there are often counted more than 50000 visitors.
