I'm vegetarian so the menu was very limited for me. However, I dined with five other people who ordered various traditional dishes and they all enjoyed their meals. Beware...if you order the cuy (guinea pig) it is served whole and looks a lot like a fried biology experiement. A trio of musicians entertained us with traditional music. With the exception of the cuy, it was an enjoyable and very inexpensive meal.

This is a very nice restaurant with an interior patio and terrace, where you can have typical cusquean dishes. I went there on a sunday and there were many local families doing their sunday meal in the terrace, as well as a few tourists.
Is a bit expensive for the average here in Cuzco, but not really overpriced. I had a pork dish and a Cusqueña beer for 20 soles (6,5 USD).

    Quinta Eulalia: Biggest Asados

This nice restaurant is in old colonial house of two floors. Paintings on the wall, flowers, nice atmosphere. That's why it's very popular for small parties, like birthdays. Pisco costs 7 sole (Feb04).

Favorite Dish: The best asado I ever had.

Quinta Eulalia: a world away from Cusco but right in town

This little oasis in the middle of overly touristy Cusco is a welcomed relief from those in the Plaza de Armas, who try and serve up international foods with varying degrees of success. It is open air and on a nice sunny day, one can spend the whole afternoon and feel like you are out in some rural suburb, sipping a beer and watching life go by.

Favorite Dish: The menu is limited to what is on the chalkboard but I enjoyed everything I had. This photo is cordero asado (roast lamb) with a rocoto relleno (stuffed pepper), tamale (corn meal in a corn husk) and served roasted potatoes. You can eat very well here for $4 and the beer is some of the cheapest in town too.
