The masterpiece created by the Inkas to show to the world their power and elegance, which by its luxure and abbundance of beauty pressumes the great skills of the Inkas . It is located on the north part of the city, and it was all made out of stone.

Sacsayhuaman was the "House of the Sun" it was not a fortress, like spanish thought once they saw such a construction. Inside the complex we can find deposits for food, weapons, ornaments, materials, and acueducts.

It has an area of 3.003.38 hectares

    Restauration??

    by El_Sueco Written May 21, 2003 713 reviews
Old and new wall construction technique

Note the "ugly" stones that are placed at the top. Thet were put there in a try(?) to restaurate the walls or maybe for protection. Fortunately it was stopped in time.

    View from Sacsahuaman

Note the statue of Christo Redentor (Jesus) in the background to the left, made of white concret. It was put there by the Christian-Arab colony in Cuzco in 1945.
