    La Chakana o Cruz Andina es una cruz cuadrada con los bordes escalonados cuyo centro es un círculo hueco , que se supone es el huevo cósmico de donde surgió toda la creación . Representa cuarto reinos con tres escalones cada uno que significan los tres mundos.
    Chakana significa “cruz del sur”, constelación que era venerada en toda la región andina desde antes de que vinieran los españoles y su fiesta se celebra el 3 de mayo, que es algo así como el año nuevo, según el calendario andino. Es la época en la que la constelación de la Cruz del Sur adquiere la forma de una cruz perfecta , cuando se recoge la cosecha y se practican los ritos de la fertilidad de la madre tierra

    The Chakana or Andean Cross is an square cross with the stepped edges whose center is a hole circle , that is supposed to be the cosmic egg were all the creation has grown up . It represents the four kingdoms with three steps each one that mean the three worlds.
    Chakana means "Southern Cross", and it is the constelation that was worshiped in all the Andean region before the Spaniards arrival . Its festival is celebrated on May 3rd , that is some thing as the new year for the Andean calendar.
    It is the time when the Southern Cross looks like a perfect cross , when the crop is done and when the the fertility rituals of the mother earth are celebrated

    Prácticamente todas las casas del valle están hechas de adobe , que después lo revocan y lo pintan
    El adobe normalmente se hace al lado de la casa utilizando tierra y paja
    Los tejados se hacen con tejas así no hay grandes contrastes con el paisaje
    Practically most of the valley houses are adobe made , that latter on they they put a cement layer and they paint it
    The adobe , normally is made besides the house using earth and hay
    All roofs are made with tales on this way there are not big contrasts with the landscape

    Paseando por Chinchero se ve a las mujeres , quechuas , que van con su traje típico y que no pierden el tiempo pues van constantemente hilando

    Los bonitos coloridos de sus lanas los siguen obteniendo en algunos sitios utilizando productos naturales y plantas y siguiendo los métodos tradicionales
    El color rojo lo obtienen con la cochinilla que es un parásito de las chumberas
    The nice wools colours they keep on getting in some places using the natural products and plants and following the traditional methods
    The red colour is got with the "cochinilla" that is a parasit of the "nopal"

    La forma trapezoidal en puertas , ventanas , nichos... es el sello característico y el más repetitivo de la arquitectura Inca.
    Algunos son sencillos y lisos , mientras otros tienen una o dos jambas
    En las ventanas se puede ver que algunas son de verdad , mientras otras son ciegas y tienen sólo una función decorativa
    The trapezoidal shape in doors , windows , niches...is the most caracteristic and repeated ithe Inca arquitecture
    Some of them are simple and smooth while anothers have one or two "jambas" (?)
    On the windows you may see that some of them are real , while others are blind and they have only a decorative function

    En una granja pudimos ver los distinto tipos de camelidos andinos , los domesticados llamas y alpacas y los no domesticados guanacos y vicuñas
    In a farm we could see the different types of Andean camelids the tamed llamas and alpacas and those not tamed guanacos and vicuñas

    Estuvimos en Perú en época de elecciones y estaba todo el país movilizado , propaganda pintada en todos los edificios y reuniones de los candidatos en todas las esquinas

    Stone Piles At Moray

    You 'll notice stone piles in some of the ruins. Our unofficial guide told us that it was a custom for visitors (in the ancient time) to bring a stone and put it on top of the pile for good luck when you visit another place. These stone piles are from Moray.
