A small cafe decorated with all sorts of old keys on the wall. The tables are made from the bases of treadle sewing machines. Very nice people. Very nice place for a snack. They do serve meals.
Favorite Dish: I had a very good vegetarian triple. Absolutely superb limonada.
This place has very reasonable prices and is a pleasant place to go for a nice but not elaborate meal. Very tasty food. There are tablecloths, which makes the place look nice. Good service. Open on Sundays. Wide selection of options.
Favorite Dish: Well, I had chicharonnes de langoustinos which were very good and served hot.
Small place, hospitable service and low prices. Famous for students, workers and pensioners.
Favorite Dish: Breakfast and menu, which costs 3.50 soles, which is less than 1 euro (2007 January). The quality/price relation is absolutely the best in this little restaurant. Usually the main food is chicken with rice, but other varieties are offered, too. There is no beer or vine, you have to manage with coke.
In Trujillo as many cities, u can find everything u want, in this case food.
Chinese food, italian food, criolla food, ceviche, deserts, caffe, etc.
I think the best places to go is by Trujillo main square, it is surrounded with many of this places, where u can eat delicious and typical peruvian food, n u can find them in Pizarro Street, Larco Street, Primavera, El Recreo, etc. In Trujillo is also known, a "must" the "Shambar", a traditional dish prepared specifically on Mondays.
This place has a great variety of fresh delicious food. They have fresh salads (totally safe to eat), excellent cakes and the best coffee I've ever tasted.
Favorite Dish: After 1pm try their fixed menu which includes a starter, main course, dessert and a drink only for S./ 6!!
Immigrants from the highlands have brought their folklore, customs & food to the coast. A different typical dish is offered each lunch time fot around US$1. Their are typical breakfasts, snacks & evening meals too.
The restaurant is where Peru's best known poet Cesar Vallejo lived as a remarkable student & teacher, & there are pictures & extracts of his work on display in the restaurant, in a colonial building with the longest original balconies in Trujillo.
Favorite Dish: Cabrito is stewed goat kids. It tastes like tender lamb or beef & is very well, but not excessively condimented. It is served with rice which is cooked just enough & not too much, & beans. It does not sound so exciting, but do not let yourself be distracted or someone else may walk off woth your meal.
