    the coast of Lima city is not advisable to do beach holiday (more in the south of Lima it´s better) but sometimes there are some surfers or para-glyder here.

    See the Plaza de Armas. This is Lima's power base. The Presidential Palace is here, and so is the Lima Cathedral. It is also flanked by governemnt buildings in one side of the square. Peru's spiritual,political and economic well-being are being shaped around this plaza

    Driving along the Pacific coast of Lima. Lima's air pollution can be oppresive, the sea breeze is invigorating. It was a great relief to see the ocean after trekking around the interiors of South America.

    Visit the museums and walk on the Plaza de Armas or Plaza Mayor and around...then, after that, there is nothing to see !

    Do not stay in LIMA more than one day.
    Go to Miraflores, just near the beach.
    walk in Miraflores , on the beach.

  • Go to Barranco, eat a Cebiche, Drink a Pisco Sour, seat on the border of the cliff to watch the sunset on the Chorrillos Bay, enjoy the nightlife, do whatever you want to do!!! But please, don't try to swim on the Rimac river... never, ever; at least not near Lima. Ah, and say hi to mom, I miss her!

    Carnival... the sundays in february when all kids play with water and get you soaked to the bone; it's great! And is my last memory of Lima also, since I left it a few months ago.

    Walk the beautiful streets downtown. Miraflores can be tempting, but the heart of Lima lies downtown.

    Go shopping!! Go to the 'Mercado del Indio'. You will find pottery, wood crafts, alpaca sweaters, leather crafts, etc.

  • Visiting Huánuco you absolutely must .... see the breach of calicanto, it´s made in 1864 of stones and cement mixed with the white of seabird eggs.

    Fondest memory of Huánuco ...

    When visiting Peru going to Cuzco and its surroundings is a must! Specially for those who like to see archeological sites, you can't miss Cuzco. From the Coricancha (Temple of the Sun) to the ruins of Machu Picchu, there is so much to see! I took this picture at the ruins of Sacsayhuaman where we came across this guy who had a live condor. Cool! That's my sister and her husband on the right.
