Subs: Subs (Av. Comandante Espinar...

by montxito

Subs (Av. Comandante Espinar in Miraflores): They call themselves a 'gourmet fast food'.You can eat really gourmet sandwich for a bite more money that a tradicional fast food like Burger King or Mc Donald. You have a huge variety of delicious sandwichs of ostrich's roadbeef, crab's pulp, prociutto, and other gourmet ingredients for only US$ 3 to US$ 5. Take a delicious pita sandwich (in an arab bread)named Maracaibo, Nilo, etc., fried mushrooms and a Chicha Morada (a drink made of the tradicional purple peruvian corn) all for only a US$ 4.50.

Rosa Nautica: Great Ceviche!

by DaveOrlando

My favorite restaurant was Rosa Nautica in Lima. The restaurant is built on a pier out over the Pacific ocean in the Miraflores section of the city. It is an expensive restaurant by Peruvian standards, but has great food and service, not to mention the panoramic view and the sound of the ocean waves beneath you while you eat. I sat outside and watched the paragliders take off and land on the cliff above the beach while I dined on Sea Bass Ceviche, which I highly recommend even if you are not a fan of ceviche - this was heaven on a plate.

"Jose Antonio" Peruvian Typical Food Restaurant: In Lima, Peru ** Rest. Jose Antonio is a must!!

by Roberto30

In Restaurant "Jose Antonio", you will find an excellent atmosphere, friendly service and highest quality in Creole Cuisine. Lomo saltado is one of the favorites and also you must try Cebiche, very typical food.Don?t forget popular drink Chicha moradamade from a purple corn. And a Pisco Sour is a must, its the national drink made of peruvian pisco.

El Turko y El Turko2: Turkish food in Arequipa

by Joe1979

There are two restraunts in Arequipa owned by a turkish guy who I was introduced to as "El Turko". Similarly, his restraunts are named "El Turko" and El Turko 2". "El Turko" is a nice white table cloth restraunt on the calle San Francisco that is less expensive then the ambiance and food quality would seem to imply. "El Turko 2" is a few blocks form the other one and is a smaller shop selling sandwiches and dolmas and the like. also very good. Usually you can find El Turko himself at his larger restraunt. The price range noted is for a great dinner with dessert, appetizers, and a few drinks at El Turko.

La Rosa Nautica: Great dining experience on the Pacific!

by gmscalley

For a few dollars more (or nuevo soles more), check out the Rosa Nautica restaurant, which features fabulous fresh seafood and the waves of the South Pacific lapping beneath its foundation, 200 metres out to sea on a pier.Ceviche - which could be considered the Peruvian national dish along with "cuy" (Guinea Pig) - is especially good here. It is sushi-grade raw fish, cured in lemon juice and Peruvian chiles for 2 days, and served cold with vegetables. Trust me, it's great!A tad bit expensive by Peruvian standards, and probably a place that your parents would choose...don't let this keep you away from a fine meal in a very relaxed, unique atmosphere. You really can hear the waves pound beneath your feet!

Lima restaurants not to miss: Little-known but not-to-be-missed eateries in Lima

by juanchucha

One of the better and quieter restaurants in Lima is the "Blue Moon" at Brigadier Pumacahua 2526 in Lince (near Parque Castilla)It has good "international" food and is particularly known for game sausages and fantastic paellas. The ambience is pretty cool as the owner has ha MASSIVE collection of liqueur and soft drink bottles of every size, shape, and description displayed in cases along the walls. It has long been a family favorite, esp. since they started a Sunday buffet.Another great place is "Hawaii" in Chorrillos. It is essentially an all-you-can eat buffet extravaganza of Peru's exceptional seafood. It's a bit hard to find but taxi drivers should know it, and is well worth the hunt.If you're in the historic center of Lima, a nice place for a quick pick-me-up bite to eat and a cool beer is the "Bar Cordano" next to the Presidential Palace, on the right. Well over 100 years old, it...

Many restaurants in Arequipa (and Peru): Cuy?, that's Guinee Pig

by Roggeveen

One of the traditional dishes is Cuy. We like to keep the guinee pig as a pet. Well, the Peruvians too, but after a while, when they are big enough the family likes to enjoy the Cuy as a dish.In Arequipa many restaurants are still cooking the traditional way, so you can order Cuy in almos every restaurant
