Luggage and bags: The tour operators give a 6 kg limit for luggage on the flights to Suriname's interior. However, they do not weigh your luggage as long as it is one weekend bag. For Blanche Marie by 4WD the same packing list is advisable.

You do not need to bring any water or food, the operator takes care of that. But you may like to carry a half-litre bottle of water.

Remember that in the rainy seasons cloths may not dry quickly, and you may want to change often because you sweat a lot. There is no laundry service, you may do some washing yourself.

    Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: T-shirts
Shirts with long sleeves (against mosquitos and other insects)
Pants (also against mosquitoes and ants)
    Raincoat or poncho
    Cap or sunhat
    Walking shoes
    Socks (against ants)
METS advises to put your trouser legs in socks when walking through the forest. We found that not necessary if you stay on the path and look out for ants.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: The usual
    Sunscreen oil
    Insect repellent
    Two bathtowels

Photo Equipment: Sufficient films and batteries, at most destinations you cannot obtain them.
Plastic bag to protect your equipment from water when navigating through rapids.

    Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Swimwear
Beachshoes (for walking on rocks in the river bed)
    Small backpack for jungle hikes

    Miscellaneous: Sunglasses
    Torchlight (and batteries!)
Money (SRD) for souvenirs and bar bill
