After a hot day cool down do not hesitate to buy from the shave ice man a cup of shave ice with your chosen flavored syrups (argeadestroop).
For a comfortable and relaxing and enjoyable meal there's Krasnopolsky its the ideal place to dine.....it has a hotel restaurant bar and casino for the lovers of Casinos.

In this restaurant you can eat European food but it's also possible to have some Chinese dishes.
Also special to this restaurant was that you get your food at the same time when you're here with many people. In some other restaurants it's possible you get your dish when other people already have finished their meal.
I only ate here once, so I can't say I have a favorite dish. What I can tell is that the food was really good. Very nice Chinese specialities, and very cheap! If you can't eat all, you can take it away!
The only problem I had with this restaurant was the high airconditioning.

At this place, under the almond trees, you can eat (or drink) from the early morning till the late evening.
It's not really a restaurant but there are different stands where you can get your food. So you can get Creole food at Inez' eatcorner or chicken at Chung Kee's stand.
At the Waterside, when eating or drinking, you can talk to the local people or listen to the stories (or their displeasure) of Suriname and the politics.
One of my favourite dishes at the Waterside is the vegetarian bami and also the bakabana (baked banana with peanut sauce).
I ate the bami three times here and every time it was different but very good. When you like pepper with your food, ask for it.
