This shopping mall is opened daily from 4PM til 10PM (also weekends and holidays)People love to come here to buy designers clothing, or just to wander around when all shops in the city are closed. There's a nice book store in Hermitage mall A lot of the shops you can pay in US dollars or Euro's. Especially clothes can be very expensive here..

Berbice River Duty Free: Stock up on alcohol

by grets

As befits any internation borden, the river crossing between Suriname and Guyana at Corentyne River, has a large duty free store. All the main names of spirits and perfume are there, along with some more local brands.

Central Market: Indoor market in Paramaribo

by duke0123

Central Market isn't really a shop but consists of several stands where people sell their vegetables, fish, meat, spices, birds in cages, cigarettes and much more. The market is the biggest indoor market in the Caribbean and surely worth a visit (market places are always interesting to visit).Actually the market is a shed and a two-floor building but the business takes place on the street too. I can't tell you what you have to take with you from Suriname, but I bought some spices, like massala and masoesa. If you want to buy, for example, garter, just do it (if you want to take it home you better buy this at the airport).
