Take a city tour of Montevideo - in 1999, we did this and saw several sites, including thisnice view of the city.

Check out the interesting old buildings in the country, or at least in Montevideo. We saw this Palacio Salvo in downtown Montevideo in May 1999.

You must go to the 232 resturaunt in Piriapolis. It is open 24 hours a day. And has the best pizza i have ever tasted. The beach, The sun setting at 10:00 pm
If you´re a fan of nice patios, old colonial buildings and winding streets you must visit Colonia becuse it´s one of the nicest colonial towns in south america.

Try the pastries known as 'Alfajores.' A Brazilian friend of mine in Mozambique told me about these, and they are terrific. It tastes a little like caramel, but is very unique.
