Here you have a small map of Choroni and Puerto Colombia with the different beaches that you can visit. The most popular are playa grande (you can go walking) and cepe and chuao. For all the beach you have to take a boat (peñero) that will take you and pick up

You can take you dog to the beach :-), you will see a lot of people with their dogs.
Are several guest house that allow to stay with pets also in the peneros (small boats) you can go with your dog.
Remember: to keep the beach clean and if you dog made his necessities to clean it.

Favorite thing: You don't need to bring your lunch to the beach. Just bring a strong knife and some patience. We just lived of coconut and coconut milk during the day. The nuts are just lying in the palmtree woods just behind the beach. Become a cracking crack if you are not already - the perfect training grounds....
Favorite thing: As nightlife is somewhat limited in Choroni we found it a good idea to bring a bottle of Cacique, Venezuelas most famous, definitely not best, but fair price/value rum and give the local cigars a chance. The rum was good, the cigar not so much. You have a good chance sitting there and talking and listen to the waves, that some crazy people approach you and try out some conversation - sometimes funny, sometimes nice and sometimes tiring. A great place for some good talks anyway.

8 Cucharas de Leche
1 Conchita de canela
1 Cucharada de maicena
Azúcar al gusto
Modo de preparar
Hervir 4 tazas de agua, agregar 3 dedos de cacao con la canela y el azúcar. Remover hasta que disuelva el chocolate. Colocar en la licuadora y se le añade la maicena. Se licua. Servir caliente.

8 Spoons of Milk
1 piece of cinnamon
1 Spoonful of Maicena
Sugar to the pleasure
Way to prepare
To boil 4 water cups, to add 3 fingers of cacao with the cinnamon and the sugar. To remove until it dissolves the chocolate. To place in the mixer and adds the maicena to him. It is liquefied. To serve hot.

Favorite thing: Well, it was a bit of a shame as the view onto the beach was blocked a bit, but we decided we could live with that.
