Cine Citta has great Italian food and they offer great service. Inside they have large flat screen TV's with ESPN on. I have enjoyed the food so much that usally when I or my friends decide to eat out they go there. They're very accomadating as well, last time we went .....there was 11 of us to sit and they gave us our own section with a long table to sit at.
A Granel restaurant in the Sambil mall is also very delicious and more for a special occasion type dinner. Sambil has several real nice and excellent restaurants to dine at such as: Bonsai Sushi , Antillanas, Bufalo's , El Rancho de Pablo, Entre Tapas y Copas and Positano.
Here is a link to more photos I took of the mall just recently:

Favorite Dish: Sorry I can't remember the name of it but it was like a chicken parmesan type meal ....VERY yummy !!! I even ordered the pizza for my kids and they loved it !

The best place to eat on Playa Caribe and the food is gorgeous. All fresh especially the fish. You must try the catalan which is like red snapper, the best fish I've ever tasted, with a side order of tostones with cheese.
The food isn't cheap, fish dish was about 45 bolivars but it's really worth it and we came back again and again.
Service is fast and friendly and the owner Carlos speaks good English and is always happy to suggest something from the menu if you're unsure.
Favorite Dish: Grilled Catalan

We made it out to a restaurant this visit to Playa el Agua. If you are looking for an affordable meal by the beach and are tired of your all-inclusive hotel food then you will enjoy a visit to this place. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. Simple decor with a nice ocean breeze made for a pleasant evening out.
Favorite Dish: We had fellow travellers from our hotel try this place first and they had pizza on their visit. The four of us were looking forward to it after having had traditional local fare for five days. There was a good variety of types of pizza (i.e. the toppings). The style of pizza is thin crust and was delicious. With a bottle of red wine and four personal pizzas, the cost was 145,000 Bolivars (or 145 Bf)

If you get really hungry at night, don't doubt and get yourself a HOT DOG off the street. The vendors put all kinds of things on them (like chips, ketchup, mayonaise, onions, corn...), which make them look greasy and not very appetising. However, they taste delicious! Or maybe they are just so good because you are "dying of hunger", I don't know... They are VERY Cheap! Just try them!

We ate at El Viejo Muelle in Juangriego 3 times. They have a nice patio with seating beachfront, under the patio, or inside. It is a must to be seated by sunset because the sunsets are so pretty!
Favorite Dish: They have a dish with black beans, fried plantains & shredded beef that is very delicious. Their fried cheese appetizer is also very good. They also have a seafood platter with all sorts of seafood that was awesome.
We had a bottle of wine, 4 appetizers, 4 meals, & 2 desserts for US$60 one night and US$70 another.

I'm not good at names, but I guess that was the name. It had a Ancient Greece style going on.
Favorite Dish: Garlic and Oil Langostinos! It is like a big shrimp.
Gotta have them. Very good. Good to look at and to eat!
But all kinds of sea food there is good. Calamares... Hummmm (Squid!)
But I thought that Parguito is more expensive than El Agua. Food, drinks.... But well, it was very good.
there was a kitty there, very small very cute and loved to play. The owner adopted it, and I got to name it, his name was El negrito (it was a black cat, so, it's like The little black). I love cats.

Great place, delicious food, very good service.
Favorite Dish: You got to have the Assopado.
It is like a Paella, but in a delicious sea food soup/sauce. It is a must. Very good.
I had the paella especial as well, and it is very good. Both dishes are enough for 2 and even 3 depending on how much you eat.
They have good desserts too, though not much of a great variety.

Cozy place, called Il Conte, although many people knows it as Bambu, cuz it has a neon light on the outside pizza oven that says bambu pizza.
Good pizza and good pasta!
Favorite Dish: The Fideboa (I guess that's the name) or Pasta Marinera is a great dish, pasta with seafood. Good for 2 people. I also had an spicy penne which was great, but I cannot remember the name... Penne M.... Somethign with M that reminds me of MAMA, Matriacci, something like that! Just ask for the spicy penne! hehe

Very simple and homy, owner-operated by a lovely french couple.
Favorite Dish: Boullabaise, Tournedos, fish preparations, it was all too good, not nearly as expensive as the By the beach tourist traps, and more than anything, the devoted and charming owners that run it!

A: I only called in on a cruise. The beaches near the ship were not good but some fellow passengers rated the beaches on the other side of the island.
