Cine Citta: Don't miss eating out at Sambil

Cine Citta has great Italian food and they offer great service. Inside they have large flat screen TV's with ESPN on. I have enjoyed the food so much that usally when I or my friends decide to eat out they go there. They're very accomadating as well, last time we went .....there was 11 of us to sit and they gave us our own section with a long table to sit at.

A Granel restaurant in the Sambil mall is also very delicious and more for a special occasion type dinner. Sambil has several real nice and excellent restaurants to dine at such as: Bonsai Sushi , Antillanas, Bufalo's , El Rancho de Pablo, Entre Tapas y Copas and Positano.

Here is a link to more photos I took of the mall just recently:

Favorite Dish: Sorry I can't remember the name of it but it was like a chicken parmesan type meal ....VERY yummy !!! I even ordered the pizza for my kids and they loved it !

La Mama: Go for the Lobster!

by mrspita Written Apr 5, 2008

If you want to watch a beautiful sunset, while you enjoy a fantastic dinner. This is one of the places you should visit. The restaurant has great atmosphere and great service. But you have to bring a lot of money, it is more expensive than other places around the island. I recommend to order tabel the day before, and the receptionist at your hotel will help you.

Favorite Dish: We had grilled Lobster and it was awsome, We really want to go back there.

It's absolutely wonderful m ade out of fresh tropical "pina". It costs 10bolviares and is excellent.
The owner is german and the crowd is mostly foreigners and the music is old american 60's!!! Believe me, the pina colada will be the only local flavor but it's worth it :)

La cucaracha is also a restaurant but it's expensive and not spectacular for what they serve.

Favorite Dish: PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! PINA COLADA!! ......

Rodger: Roger's restaurant : cheaper and better

by vivacolombia Written Mar 19, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We ate a couple of times there and enjoyed there seafood (shrimps, fish ...). My mom once asked for a seafood BBQ and the lady was nice and honest enough to not recommend it on that day as they had not fished a lot and wouldn't have a lot of variety on her dish. She took the garlicky shrimps and the BBQ shrimps and it was delicious... The price: 30 bolivares fuertes (7USD?)
    and a bear (3bolivares fuerte)
And the atmosphere was excellent with the typical venezuelian music and the terrace overlooking the bay

Favorite Dish: Anything with shrimps, seafood or fish

Café Miragua: Best and cheapest coffee

by Marejka Updated Mar 1, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We had some good coffe breaks at Café Miragua in Playa El Agua beach. They are open until 9 pm so there's lots of time to go there. We'd definitely reccomend them for their coffee, very good and cheap, and it's one of the few places where you can get a decent one staying in Playa El Agua. They also serve breakfast, lunch and more - which was ok - overall it's a good place to enjoy a break from the beach.

Authentic; non-commercial. Great food, sangria, ambience, and fabulous setting/view of the ocean.

Favorite Dish: Said to be the best seafood restaurant on the island with a view of the Caribbean. The food was excellent and the Sangria was out of this world! For dinner, we had seafood ceviche, local fish (grouper) with mango chutney and whole baby potatoes soaked in garlic and baked with salt. Awesome!

The only reason that I won't give it the top rating is because the service was poor.

Not a restaurant but a stand: Eating at 4 o'clock in the morning...

by Bendokan Updated Jul 25, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

While going out in Playa El Agua you might suddenly have a little urge for some food.... well, don't worry about getting to your hotel for a quick bite... just drive or walk through town and go to the road to the capital. On the side of the road there's a local food stand (small wooden box) which serves a delight.

Some sort of bread (like pitta) filled with fried fish. Delicious especially at night... you can even buy a beer out of the trunk of a car which is made with a cooling system to keep your beer fresh...

But be cautious, not safe for tourists on their own !

Margarita International Resort: Taste Buds Beware!

    by Bwana_Brown Updated Jul 16, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Waiting for Pizza at Margarita Village

We had an all-inclusive deal and the food at the resort did not taste too bad for the first couple of days. However, it slowly all began to taste the same, maybe it was the cooking oil, and our enthusiasm began to wear off (it even started to bother me and normally I am not a very fussy eater!). After a bout of 'Montezuma's Revenge' we decided to branch out into the local area establishments. We found a great little pizza joint that filled our needs to a tee, the Margarita Village! We had a couple of meals there (photo) for about $26 Canadian for the 4 of us.
