Coconut Grove Beach Resort: a great hotel in Bilmina
We had our lunchbreak in the Coconut Grove Beach Resort, but we did not stay overnight in this excellent hotel ! We had Mango-juice, tea, coffee, various sandwiches, cookies etc. on a buffet and a break of 45 minutes in order to relax a bit after some hours of sightseing and sitting in the tourbus.
They have a wide, sandy beach, waves are quite high here as well and swimming was forbidden in the sea, but they have a nice pool anyway.
The hotel houses 14 horses, I saw a peacock and some more animals in the wide park of the hotel, a large wooden crocodile and if I ever come here again, this hotel might be my first choice (also because I did not see any other hotel of that quality so far around Bilmina and Cape Coast)

Sammo's Guesthouse: Sammo's Guesthouse
Very close to the citycentre, to the lagoon and to the beach of Cape Coast, you will find the nice guesthouse "Sammo's Guesthouse". For a very reasonable price you can sleep here in a very reasonable accommodation.
To start with the rooms: Sammo's has three different types of rooms: double, self-contained, rooms with private toilet and shower, and double rooms with shared facilities, some small ones and some large ones. A large "shared" bedroom costs 83.000 cedis ($ 8,30) and a small one is 68.000 cedis. A self-contained bedroom is more expensive, and is just over 100.000 cedis per night.
For this amount of money you get a decent room with fan, a good bed (but take your own sheets with you) and enough toilets and showers. They are not spotless, but clean enough and the water of course is cold.
Sammo's also has a nice rooftop-restaurant, where you can have a drink or a good and cheap meal. Chicken or fish is served with several types of rice or chips, but be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes or even longer. But in the meantime, the view is great, with the sea nearby.
Downstairs there is a nice, shady terrace outside where you can have a drink, and from there it is only a few minutes walk to the beach, and about 10 minutes to the Castle and the best restaurants of the city.
Finally, a good word for the staff: the staff is very nice and especially the manager is a very helpful man who does everything to please you.

Sammos Guesthouse: Cheap and friendly guesthouse
Sammos Guesthouse has decent rooms from 12 Cedi and a fairly decent restaurant on the roof, not too far from the center and good information. TripAdvisor and other sites had a warning about raping employes in 2009, i was there 2012 and didn´t see anything negativ (but it`s rather unlikely anyone want´s to rape me...).
