Maison Casero, Fort Kochi: Wonderful Homestay
Staying at Maison Casero gave me and Keith a real understanding of everyday life in Kerala. This lovely home is well located in a quiet street in the residencial area in the heart of Fort Kochi. It's an easy short walk to the promenade and the chinese fishing nets. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony surrounded by tropical trees, and was nice seeing the children walking by on their way to school and hearing the calls of the fish sellers, etc. as they rode their bikes along the narrow streets. Breakfasts were a real treat.. and a super introduction to keralan home-cooked food and all delicious. Jaison and Priya and girls are such proud and loving and friendly people and made our trip very memorable. We were humbled and honoured to be guests at Tereena and Pramod's wedding. We had the most wonderful day .. and send our warmest congratulations and wish Tereena and Pramod a long and happy life together.

Spice Garden Homestay, Wayanad: "Good Service and personal Touch" - Wayanad Trip
Spice garden Homestay at Wayanad Dt., Kerala was recommended to us by a close friend who had really liked the place. For us, it was a first time that we were planning for a home stay. My stay at the Spice Garden Homestay was one to remember. The owners made us feel right at home and made sure that we had everything we needed. The natural beauty of Wayanad with the affectionate and caring hospitality of Mr. Santhosh and his team deserves a true accolade. If I return to Waynad, I would certainly want to stay here again. And also recommend this beautiful home to all my friends

Jasmine Palace, Kovalam: Good.clean and friendly
We booked the Jasmine for 3 nights as we were not sure of our itinary, after the 3 nights we went to another resort 60 miles away for 4 days, on our return to Kovalam we decided to check into the Jasmine again as it had been clean, friendly and relatively cheap. The hotel had a swimming pool and a restuarant, 1or 2 evenings a week entertainment was put on for a small fee and dinner included. I would definately reccomend the Jasmine and it has a good name locally. The staff were nice and helpfull even when we arrived at 5am in the morning nothing was a problem.
The pool was a treat, although the hotel is near the beach On the first day and in between for relaxing with a book was enjoyed. Also the on site restuarant was good and was handy for breakfast.

Cherai Beach Resort: Cherai Beach Resort-
Its a peaceful little place, so not too touristy. Its got a beach which is almost a private beach. In the evenings you may have locals taking a walk or sometimes has a local fare etc. Beach is quite clean. Service in the resort is a little slow, so don't wait till you get really hungry to go the restaurant. You can get rooms/cottages facing the backwater but may have to do prior booking. The place also has an auyrvedic massage center which is pretty okay if you dont mind the oily massages.
This place has some cottages that have a bathroom extending into the backwater. Which means you can take a dip into the backwater, but its not that clean so ....

Tamarinnd Residency: Alleppey one of the best homestay
Hi November/ December is the peakseason. The rate of houseboats will be more. That is over 25% rate hike on this seasons. More over from this September the rate of hosueboats is increased. Also the availablity of houseboats on this season is very low. I recommend you to contact Tamarinnd Residency Alleppey for more details. They arranged me houseboat on last week. That rate was ok.
The rooms are very big and spacisous. There are two openspace inside the house which can access from bedroom. There are two kitchens. We prepared food there by ourselves. The food service is also there. But choose to cook by ourselves. That was a great experience. The most is the co-operation of the people in this homestay, They are very friendly. I was very happy with them. They arrange houseboats for a cheaper than than other offered. This place is neat and clean. We feel this place like our own home. I recommend Tamarinnd Residency for bed and breakfast. I give 95 out of 100 for this homestay. I was very satisfied.

Fort House Hotel: Ayurvedic Spa
The Fort House Hotel has started a ayurvedic center under the technical guidance of the Nagarjuna ayurvedic group.I must also mention that the Nagarjuna group is the most reputed health care group of Kerala. I think the doctor is there at the hotel continuously. The pleasant ambience of the hotel and their delicious vegetarian meals can only compliment a rejuvenation or cleansing treatment.I think it would be a great idea to combine the treatment with a relaxing holiday in Fort Cochin!!
www.hotelforthouse.com

LAKE PALACE HOTEL: In the midst of the BACKWATERS
On the second leg of trip to Kerala we had decided to be amongst the much talked about backwaters of Kerala. We were suggested to go to the LAKE PALACE HOTEL, which is located in Allepey about 80 kilometres from the Cochin airport. If I had to mention, this was the only negative part - getting from the airport till the hotel.

After a long drive of around 3 hours we had to get to the Punnamada boat jetty and then have short ride on the lake before getting to the hotel. It was dark when we got there in the evening hence could not appreciate what we were much wanting to see. After getting to the hotel and checking in to a very comfortable cottage with two rooms, we just had dinner and went to sleep.

The next morning we were up eagerly wanting to check out what this magical place had in store for us. We were surrounded by the backwaters. Located in the green environment of the Vembanadu Lake and almost next door to the spot where the Nehru Trophy Boat Race ends, the Lake Palace Hotel represents the perfect combination of tradition and modernity.

At this hotel you can find Kerala Cottages, uniquely ethnic in their designs which seem to blend with the natural surroundings. Each cottage has a large bedroom with a mini bar, television and 24-hour room service. The bathrooms are well equipped. To top it all, each of the cottages open out to offer views of the Vembanadu Lake.

Besides the Kerala Cottages, there are the Lake View Cottages with their large balconies and luxurious interiors. The king-size bedrooms of the cottages face the lake and each room is equipped with a mini bar, TV set and good bathrooms.

The swimming pool of the hotel is a marvel of engineering because it is located in the three-acre lake itself complete with sun decks and pool side service. The Lake Palace has a multicuisine restaurant offering a variety of Indian, Continental and Chinese dishes and, of course, fresh seafood apart from cultural programmes etc.,

THE LEELA KEMPINSKI: Kovalam beach hotel
The Leela Kempinski was our choice to spend part of the holidays in Gods own country Kerala, in Kovalam. The nearest airport is that of Trivandrum (Thivananthapuram) which is situated just 13 kilometers from this property. We were picked up by a vehicle of this hotel and after a warm welcome, once in the vehicle we were given a music menu, which was the first time that it happened to me. We selected Indian instrumental music (click here to listen -http://www.theleela.com/) which was a good choice to enjoy the magnificent views of the coast combined with the lush greenery of the countryside till our hotel.
The hotel itself is situated inside a huge campus filled with fantastic gardens and nice balconies with breathtaking views to the Arabian Sea and the famous Kovalam coastline and beaches. This 5 star resort is a holidaymaker’s haven designed to the finest international standards. It houses elegant indoor and open air terrace dining with an array of superlative restaurants and lounge. The hotel offers ayurveda massages which are typical and a speciality of Kerala.
The rooms are huge and very comfortable offering the best amenities one could expect. The buffets for all the meals were excellent with a very big variety of local and international cuisine. Service by the staff is second to none and in general a great experience.
the location of the hotel. The service by its staff, the food they offer etc.,etc.,
