A GOOD BUDGET HOTEL

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 23, 2014

CLOVER CITY CENTER HOTEL.
This is a great budget hotel. It manages to do a few things most budget hotels do not. First – it’s quiet, yet in the middle of Yangong. It is actually on a side street and is blocked off by massive buildings from heavy traffic on the main roads. Secondly it has nice beds. The rooms are a little small and so are the bathrooms, but it works just fine. I had a good night’s sleep. The staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. They even exchange money at a good rate.

The hotel is perfectly located. It is in the very heart of the city. You can find plenty of shopping, food and places to drink just a few minutes’ walk away. There is even a vibrant street market an night if you want to eat with local people. This is an excellent hotel.

Please note – this is one of 3 Clover Hotels and one of them is confusingly 2 doors away.

Central Hotel -yes, it is central!

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 17, 2006

The Central Hotel is a 2-3 star hotel right in the middle of the action in Yangon. Air conditioned, own toilet/shower, satellite TV, mini bar, breakfast included. Almost opposite the hotel is Bogyoke markets. You can walk to the Sule Pagoda and the Strand.(see pics of location) The hotel is also very good for exchanging money. Cost for double US$60, single US$33

Traders Hotel is almost next door.

Unique Quality: This hotel is frequented by many Burmese-many connected with World Vision

It is also a very good place where you can exchange your money. One of the staff will ask you almost immediately you arrive whether you would like some money changed. The exchange rate was as good as the market rate US$1 1350 Kyats and we were able to count the money etc in the relative comfort of the hotel.

Central Hotel

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 22, 2005

The rooms are big and comfortable... The hotel has 3 F&B outlets: Jade Chinese restaurant, Ruby House Coffee Shop and Diamond White (Cafe & Bar)... The hotel lobby is very nice and homely...and the service is of fairly good standard...

Unique Quality: Although my room overlooks the main Bogyoke Aung San Street, street noise was not noticeable... This may be due to the fact that motor cycles are banned in the city of Yangon...

Directions: The location of the hotel is very central... and within 5 minutes walk is the Bogyoke Market (or Scotts Market) and the Sule Pagoda... Also within walking distance is the Chinatown and Little India...
