THE BEST HOTEL ROOM EVER

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 8, 2014

I have stayed in hotels across the world. Great hotels. Fantastic hotels. The Conrad gave me the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. And then I only stayed in the room for 3 hours. When I arrived I didn’t expect much from the hotel as it is a glass/chrome type of high-rise tower. Although I have to admit I liked the glass elevators. Once I arrived in my room, I started to realise this was a very different sort of room. It seemed to have everything. Great little surprises popped up at every turn. The bathtub came with bubble bath and its own rubber duck! The bedroom had a teddy bear to sleep with. There was fresh fruit with a dish, cloth napkins and even cutlery.

I had a lovely quiet room on a top floor and had a good, but short sleep. Before I got up and out I had a nice soaking bath – with the supplied rubber duck! I have listed below some of the neat little extras in my room:

* Fresh fruit * a Teddy bear * rubber duck in the bath * bubble bath * flashlight (electric torch) * Cotton balls * 2 mini bars * Umbrella * iron/ironing board * the desk has things like a ruler and paper clips * nice robes * phones everywhere * electric kettle * Coffee machine

This is a world class hotel. I know. And now you do as well!

Newer of the 2 Hilton hotels

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 27, 2013

There are 2 Hilton hotels in Singapore and this is the newer and better roomed one. The rooms are much bigger and better fitted. The other Hilton, in Orchard Road, is more than 30 years old, and notwithstanding the renovations, limited by space and design.

Having said that, if you are an elite HH member, you need to know that there are 3 classes of rooms at this hotel (price and lounge access wise; the rooms are identical) , and if you book the standard room at below S$400, you will not get upgraded to the executive floor, even if rooms are available there. Compared to the other Hilton, complimentary upgrades are much harder here. I found the food and service better at the other Hilton as they say they try to make up for the older building with better food and service. Even after multiple visits and multi-day stays as a HH Gold member, I never had a "welcome back" or recognition (I get a very warm and personal greeting at the Hilton).

I wish there was no need to choose but as things are you need to choose between nicer rooms and better service.

Unique Quality: Very nice and large bathrooms.

Better of two Hilton Offerings

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 26, 2007

As we arrived I took in the lobby before making my way to the check in desk.

Upon reaching the desk I was informed I was to check in upstairs at the lounge on 33. So as we were shown a table and offered a drink my information was taken and we were checked in while we enjoyed some champagne and a snack.

Next we were shown to our room. 1901. The suite upgrade was not a surprise since I had a paid rate for the Executive Premier room. However this particular suite was not going to work. The configuration was wrong and I asked for another. Finally we were put in 1301, which sadly was on a smoking floor but the room did not smell of it.

As you walk into the room it expands in a clockwise circle. Through the doorway the wall holds the left wall straight out. Along this wall you will find a desk and work area with the phone and internet cables as well as an office chair. Across you will find the couch and a chair along with a coffee table in front facing you and the tv on the near wall.

Following right through the door you come into the bedroom. Small table and chair in front of you with the king bed to your right. Large bay windows giving you a view of the fountain and the city. Beyond the bed on the right wall is the tv and closets which continue to the bathroom door.

The bathroom opens up further to the right again. On your right is the counter top and double sinks. The bathtub is in front of you with a standalone shower at its right end. Separate toilet behind the door again to your right.

Directions: Next to Suntec City.

Conrad: 5-stars hotel....without a jacuzzi

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 6, 2005

This is a 5-stars hotel, belonging to the Hilton Group. Located at Marina Bay, this hotel is just a stone throw away from the Central Business District and the main shopping hubs of Raffles City/Suntec City. Service is warm and professional, befitting a 5-stars hotel and the room is very spacious and comfortable. Each guest receives a free "Conrad" teddy bear as a souvenir. The only complain is that for a 5-stars hotel, it does not have a jacuzzi in its gym/health centre.

Unique Quality: Depending on the location of your room, you may get a great view of the downtown of Singapore.

Directions: Marina Bay area, opposite Suntec City.

The service provide by this hotel begins from the moment you enter the entrance of the hotel. The doorman will open the door for you and greet you..The front desk staffs are also very pleasant and provide quality service. It depends, but sometimes a staff will walk you to your room.

The room is bright and pretty spacious, about 40 sq m...Also there is welcome amentity; a small basket full of fruits.

Room service at 11 plus at night was pretty fast for orders like steaks & Japanese food.

Unique Quality: Our room was facing the Fountain of Wealth and at night, there is laser display show, splendid!

Directions: Next to Millenia Walk
