Stonehurst Backpackers

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 19, 2004

This place has won many awards in New Zealand, for all the facilities they have as a hostel. But they do lack the basic facilities. The rooms are cramped, the beds are very small and there are no sockets in the rooms, so if you want to charge something you have to sit in the reading or the tv room. The hostel is very clean and is cleaned by professional staff. The receptionists are all very nice and are helpful in any way they can.

Unique Quality: There is a nice swimming pool, it's an outdoors one so only usable in the summer.

Directions: On Latimer Square, just 5 minutes walking distance east of Cathedral Square.
