Lied to

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 21, 2009

October 19 -21 2009
We booked a double room with bath for two nights. Upon arrival we were asked to settle the remainder of the bill - the first night had been taken out on the credit card upon booking - we did but soon regretted it.
We got room 606. Obviously a chambre de bonne, remodelled. Tiny and in pathetic shape: the closet door had been ripped out roughly, nails sticking out, the sink was broken and the bath did not have a stopper. Most of all there was no heat, the room was ice cold. Our protests were met with smiles and lies: "You can get another room tomorrow" , when that did not happen "the sink would be fixed that day", "the heating was broken but now fixed... the heat took time getting up to the sixth floor!!!" The room was acceptable for them.
We left the room two days later, exactly as it was when we came. There was never any intention of fixing anything nor putting any heat on. They took us for fools and clearly did not give a damn.
AVOID this hotel at all costs.

POOR VALUE AND AMEANITIES

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)

My wife anf i have just returned from a 4 night break and feel cheated and very dissapointed.
Good points... Clean and friendly staff.

Bad points..
We paid over 400 Euros for a superior double room ahich had no heating and limited hot water. Dispite very cold conditions, we were repeately told that it was not hotel policy to turn the heating on at this time of year (mid october and very cold )
There was no lounge, dining room, bar or Restaurant in this hotel.
Our room did not have a mini bar or safe,
The breakfast room only has 4 tables, and for the unforunate Guests who arrive while they are being used, they are expected to wait.
We arrived back at 10.30pm and found the front door locked with a sign saying " back in 5 minutes"

Unique Quality: NONE

Directions: BACK STREET

Hotel Taylor is a family run hotel. It is located on a quiet residential street minutes from Place de la Republique.

The rooms are basic but clean.

I didn't really like the location of this hotel, didn't feel safe in the area.

Unique Quality: The manager of the hotel is very helpful and is only too pleased to offer tips on Paris.

Directions: Take the Metro to Republique. Take the exit for BD St.Martin. Keep to the right hand side of the road. You will come to a side street (Rue Taylor) with an arch. The hotel is located on the right passed the archway.
