Historic Castle at the shore of the Isar

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 6, 2005

Located somewhat southwards of Munich this youth hostel is in fact an old castle. The dormatories are located in the old castle rooms with meter thick walls. The S-bahn stops at pullach station wich is approx. 1 km form the hostel.
The signs to the hostel are not very obvious, but i found the local population in pullach to be very helpful.

Unique Quality: The unique atmosphere in this place i definately worth at stay

Jugendherberge Pullach Schwaneck

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 12, 2002

I've stayed in the Youth hostel in Pullach Burg Schwaneck, which is outside Munich on the S7 line towards Wolfratshausen

Unique Quality: There is not much in Pullach itself but if you prefer the country life then you will find it agreeable.

In Bavaria, you must be under 26 in order to stay in a hostel. There are exceptions to the rule, so check in advance.

Directions: Pullach is hard enough to get to - it's outside the city and then you have to walk around some country lanes, but the views above the Isar river valley make up for it.
