Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

I feel that this hotel is best as a starting point. We stayed in this hotel for one night only but is enough to notice the best customer service in the front desk. Very polite and professional. Facilities is above average and so with its room amenities. Breakfast is above average. All is going well but was dismayed by the unprofessional manner of one cafeteria staff who seem to be a supervisor, as I see her giving very bossy instruction to other staff. She is unfriendly and impolite. If you ask a question, she hurriedly reply....EVERYTHING IS THERE! I asked her specific question, so I was expecting specific answer. To think that it was our first and only breakfast in the hotel, she gave a very bad impression of their cafeteria service in so a short period of time....

Unique Quality: This is a very convenient place to stay if you need to use the train for the succeeding trips. We went to Pisa using the train and also left the next day using the train to Rome. Santa Maria de Nouvella Centrale Train Station is just across the Ambaciatori Hotel.

Not a great hotel

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)

I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel. It's right on top of the bus station, and the loud bus crowds and horns and announcement woke us up through the early morning. Their A/C doesn't work very well either, and in Florence I NEED A/C. This place was a bit stuffy, and the city of Florence is not stuffy. I'd recommend a family run, smaller place.

Perfect starting point

This is a great little hotel located just a block from the main train station right in the heart of Florence. The hotel was built quite some time ago and its lifts(elevators) are reflective of that, so....I would highly recommend not bringing those massive suitcases that are all the trend right now, because if you do, you'll have to drag them up several flights of (marble) stairs!.Believe me, it is not fun!

Unique Quality: This hotel has some magnificent views of the city, I would highly recommend staying there.

Directions: Next to the train station.

Nice Centrally Located Hotel

by written on November 4, 2002

Nice and clean 3-star hotel, just accross the street from the railway station, easily reachable also by car. There is a garage in the same building.

Unique Quality: Nothing outstanding, everything is just fine. Online booking possible.
